TRENTON (Mercer) The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating two homicides that occurred in Trenton in the last 24 hours.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. on Saturday evening, November 28, police responded to a report of male stabbed in the 300 block of Brunswick Avenue.  Upon arrival, they located the victim, Daniel Alvaranga, 33, in the intersection of Brunswick Avenue and Southard Street.  He was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

Then at approximately 2:50 a.m. Sunday morning, November 29, police responded to a male shot in the 300 block of Centre Street. The victim, a male in his 30s, was located in a first-floor apartment suffering a gunshot wound to the head.  He was pronounced at the scene.  A tentative identification of the victim has been made, but his name will not be released until a positive identification is confirmed.
