EWING TOWNSHIP ( Mercer ) Thursday, Ewing Police Officer Melvin Jumper received the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) of New Jersey TOP COP award for the highest number of DUI arrests in Mercer County, which has helped save and protect countless lives. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the yearly breakfast held in June, honoring officers throughout the state was cancelled. Thursday, in Bridgewater Township, Officer Jumper was presented with a plaque by M.A.D.D. An email sent to the Ewing police department by M.A.D.D. states:
“On behalf of Mothers Against Drunk Driving New Jersey, the families we serve, and our many volunteers and supporters, we would like to congratulate Officer Melvin Jumper on receiving the TOP COP Award for the 2020 Annual M.A.D.D. New Jersey Law Enforcement Recognition. We are looking forward to having you and the winning Officer in your command attending our limited Award Presentation.”
