Trenton, NJ (Mercer) Trenton Police Director Sheilah A. Coley announced that a City of Trenton sanitation employee was arrested for knowingly being in possession of stolen property.
Paul Bethea, 61, of Trenton, is charged with one count of receiving stolen property.
On Friday afternoon, April 2, 2021 around 2:00 p.m., Trenton Police Officers responded to 675 Prospect Street after receiving a call about a verbal dispute. Officers spoke with the owner of the location who told them that he had allowed Bethea to store property in a vacant part of the building for the last six months. The owner had become suspicious that some of the property was stolen.
The officers discovered that some of the property, including at least two snow blowers, was reported stolen from 260 North Willow Street late last year. During the investigation, Bethea was arrested at the scene.
Officers recovered 168 pieces of property – mostly power tools and lawn equipment – from the location. The investigation is ongoing as the detectives attempt to determine if any additional property has been reported stolen.
