Trenton,NJ (Mercer) Governor Murphy declared a statewide state of emergency starting at 10 p.m. Thursday as the state is set to be hit with its third winter weather event of the week, with a snowstorm expected to effect most of the state overnight, dropping as as much as 6 inches in some places.

The snow is likely to fall between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Friday, ahead of the morning commute.

Murphy recommended that anyone who can work remotely or start later in the day to take advantage of that option. State offices will operate on a delayed opening, Murphy said.
