TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) On Sunday, January 22, 2023, at approximately 10:14 Pm, Police responded to 152 Kent Street on a report of a stabbing in progress call. Upon initial investigation, Police found the victim with a severe laceration to his face. The Victim was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for medical attention.

Under the direct supervision of the Major Crimes Unit Commander Detective Lieutenant B. Suschke and Robbery Unit Supervisor Detective Sergeant L. Nazario, Detective Cook took charge of the investigation. The suspect was subsequently identified as Banner Godoy and was apprehended in the area of South Clinton Avenue by Patrol Officers without further incident. Detective Cook along with the assistance from Detective S. Gonzalez continued with the investigation and Banner Godoy was subsequently charged with Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault and related weapons offenses.
