TRENTON,  N.J. (PBN) – In a late-night incident on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, Trenton Police responded to multiple calls regarding a disturbance in the area of Willow St. and Spring St. witnesses reported a male who had crashed into several parked vehicles and was allegedly armed Lieutenant Rios stated.

According to reports from Trenton Police Communications, the suspect was identified by multiple witnesses at the scene. Upon police arrival, the individual refused to comply with officers’ commands and attempted to flee. As officers closed in, the suspect’s actions led to a physical altercation, resulting in an injury to one of the responding officers.

The suspect was subsequently apprehended and charged with several offenses, including aggravated assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, obstructing, and active warrants. Despite initial reports of the suspect being armed, no weapon was recovered during the incident.

The injured officer received medical attention, and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
