Trenton, NJ – A tragic shooting incident early Sunday morning outside the Regal 1 Bar on North Clinton Avenue has left one man dead and two others injured, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office reported.

At approximately 2:10 a.m. on May 26, 2024, Trenton patrol units responded to a disturbance at the Regal 1 Bar. Upon arrival, officers encountered a chaotic scene with a crowd of around 200 people fighting in the street. Minutes later, the situation escalated as multiple gunshots rang out, prompting a ShotSpotter alert for two separate shootings in the 500 block of North Clinton Avenue.

Three shooting victims were identified. Dwayne Penix, 20, of Trenton, was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The other two victims, both adult males, sustained gunshot wounds and are currently in stable condition.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. Prosecutor Angelo J.
