Shooting Leaves 2 Wounded,1 Dead

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) The Trenton Police and the Mercer County Homicide task force are investigating a shooting that left three people wounded Sunday. The shooting happened just before 2:00 Pm on Randall Ave in the 100 block extending to the 800 block of Beatty Street. Trenton EMS and Ewing Ems transported the wounded to Capital Heath trauma center. The third victim was transported with CPR in progress. Officials have not released information on the shooting.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are

investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon in Trenton, Mercer County

Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on May 1, 2022, the Shot Spotter activation system reported multiple rounds in the 800 block of Beatty Street.  Moments later, several 911 calls were received reporting multiple people shot.

Police responded to the scene and located three adult male victims suffering gunshot wounds.  Two victims were located in the 100 block of Randall Avenue and one was located on Beatty Street.  The victim located on Beatty Street was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The two additional victims are being treated.  Preliminary investigation indicates two of the three shooting victims, including the deceased, were targeted.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information

Firefighter Suffer Minor Injuries In Pennington Ave Blaze

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Trenton Firefighters are investigating a fire that ripped through two homes in the 500 block of Pennington Ave Friday night. Firefighters arrived to heavy fire showing from the second and third floor of the home and extending to the attached home. Firefighters reported no one was in the home, one firefighter suffered minor injuries, and they were transported to the hospital.

The Fire remains under investigation 

Trenton Man wanted by Trenton Police for Impersonating an officer

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Trenton Police were looking for a wanted man accused of impersonating a Police officer in Trenton. According to the wanted poster John Heredia was wanted for operating a decommissioned police car with working lights and sirens, specifically using said vehicle to initiate motor vehicle stops on persons, including an off-duty Trenton Police officer. The vehicle is an unknown tag ford interceptor Taurus 4-door sedan silver in color with black wheels, black front push bar, and tinted windows.

Hamilton Police Investigating Lalor Street Shooting

Hamilton Township, N.J. (PBN)  Hamilton Police are investigating a shooting on Lalor Street between Jersey Street early Tuesday morning. One person was transported to the hospital in unknown condition. Police officers and detectives could be seen entering and exiting a home where a person was shot in front of the home. Hamilton Police has not returned a call for comment about the shooting.

Person in grave condition after shooting on Perry Street

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Police are investigating a shooting that left one person in grave condition on Perry Street near Montgomery Street early Saturday morning. The victim was reported to be in traumatic arrest while Trenton Ems was transported to the hospital with paramedics. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the shooting.

Early Morning shooting leaves one dead another Injured in Trenton

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Trenton Police are investigating another shooting in the Capital City Thursday morning. Police responded to the fast-track gas station on Mulberry Street and Enterprise Ave, where a 26-year-old male was shot in the chest. Trenton EMS and paramedics transported that male to Capital health trauma center in grave condition, where he was later pronounced dead. A second victim went by car to Capital health in unknown condition.

Two Mercer County Detectives involved in serious crash in Trenton

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Two Mercer County Prosecutor Police detectives working in the Trenton Police task force were injured Monday morning after getting into a crash at Chambers Street and Walnut Ave. The detectives had to be cut from the vehicle after it struck a utility pole after the crash. Trenton ems transported both detectives to Capital health trauma center. There were no other reported injuries.
One Detective has been released from with broken ribs, and arm the second one remains hospitalized in stable condition. Hamilton Police Division is investigating the cause of the crash.

Breaking news of Trenton is awaiting comment from the city of Trenton.

UPDATE: Trenton Officials say the officers were in an unmarked car at the time of the crash and were pursuing another vehicle that may have had an armed person inside. A separate white SUV was making a turn when the officer driving swerved in an attempt to avoid the SUV. The officers’ vehicle went out of control and struck a fire hydrant and utility pole.

Fire Breaks out at Taco Bell in Trenton

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Developing story this morning on South Broad Street. Trenton Firefighters are investigating a fire at the Taco Bell in the 500 block of SouthBroad Street. Firefighters arrived on the scene just after 6:00 AM number of Trenton firefighters arrived on the scene to heavy black smoke showing. No reported injuries at this time.

UPDATED: 16-Year-Old Fatally Shot Inside South Trenton Home

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Trenton Police and the Mercer County homicide task force are investigating a fatal shooting in the 100 block of liberty street. Trenton Emergency medical services and paramedics were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Liberty just after 9:00 Pm for a 16-year-old male shot multiple times

Police were called to the Liberty Street home just after 9 p.m. and found a 16-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds to the face, the Mercer County prosecutor’s said. The boy, who was not identified. Ems pronounced the male deceased a short time later. Trenton Police found a gun at the scene.

There were other teenagers present in the home and a gun was found at the scene, authorities said.

UPDATE: The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the teenager who was killed by a gunshot wound last week on Liberty Street in Trenton as Tahaad Goss.

The 16-year-old was shot once in the face just before 9 p.m. last Thursday, authorities said. There were other youths present at the scene when police arrived, although the circumstances of the shooting remain unclear.

So far, there have been no arrests and no charges.

MERCER COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

A Trenton teenager has been arrested and charged for the March shooting death of a 16-
year-old that occurred on Liberty Street, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri
reported.
The 14-year-old Trenton male is charged with second-degree reckless manslaughter and
second-degree providing false information to law enforcement. The juvenile was arrested
without incident on Friday. He was released on an electronic monitoring bracelet to a
shelter with 24-hour supervision.
The charges are the result of an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force
and the Trenton Police Department. Just after 9 p.m. on March 31, 2022, Trenton police
responded to a residence in the 100 block of Liberty Street on the report of a teenager
shot. Upon arrival, officers located 16-year-old Tahaad Goss lying on the basement stairs
suffering a gunshot wound to the face. He was pronounced dead at the scene. There
were other teenagers present in the house and a gun was found in the basement.

UPDATE: The suspect wounded Saturday during an officer-involved shooting incident that occurred in Trenton has been charged with assault, resisting arrest, and obstruction offenses, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
Jajuan Henderson, 29, of Burlington, is charged with four counts of aggravated assault (second degree) and one count each of resisting arrest (third-degree) and obstruction (fourth-degree). There is no scheduled court appearance at this time.
At approximately 12:15 AM, Saturday, February 12th, 2022, members of the Trenton Police Street Crimes Unit were involved in a Police shooting resulting from an encounter with Henderson in a motor vehicle. During this incident, Henderson was shot by one officer. Henderson was initially treated at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Trenton, and has since been transferred to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, where he remains in stable condition. No officers appear to have been injured. All four officers have been placed on administrative leave, and the scene was processed on Saturday by the New Jersey State Police, both of which are standard protocols for incidents of this nature.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force continues to investigate the shooting, which is also a standard protocol for these incidents. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office has been notified, as well. Anyone with information is asked to call (609) 989-6406.
