TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning in the city, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri announced.
At approximately 12:03 AM, Trenton police responded to the area of Aspen Alley and Evans Avenue in response to a Shot Spotter activation. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso area.
He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment. The victim was identified as Markell Biggs, 20, of Trenton, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Trenton officials are investigating a fire that ripped through 3 homes in the 200 block of Mott Street Sunday shortly after 11:00 Am Sunday. Firefighters recovered numerous animals and police officers located at least two dogs wandering around the scene, one dog bit an officer sustaining very minor injuries. Fire Chief Ross Dale stated when they arrived they were met with heavy fire from the rear of 3 homes and went to a defensive operation. The fire was placed under control shortly after 1Pm. Chief Ross Dale also stated that they did not dump the city on the fire but it came close to a 3-alarm.

(PBN) Trenton Police are investigating in the area of 200 Hudson Street and Bayard Street Friday night shortly after 11:00Pm Police say a Male victim was approached by a male suspect on foot who shot him in both legs. The male Victim was transported to Capital Health Trauma Center by Trenton Ems. The Victim remains in stable condition. No other information was released
TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday evening in Trenton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced.
Trenton police officers were alerted to gun shots in the area of Oakland and Hoffman street at approximately 8:42 p.m. on Friday, May 26th, 2023. Officers observed the victim’s vehicle drive away from the area of the shooting, lose control and strike several parked cars in the area of 524 Hoffman Avenue. As officers began to render aid to the victim, they observed that he was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Sherief Treadwell, 36, of Trenton, NJ, was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Firefighters from Trenton responded to a blaze at a vacant high school located at Martin Luther King Blvd and Southard Street after residents reported seeing flames around 2 p.m. The fire was so intense that nearby homes, including one on Evans Ave, caught fire, causing minor damage. The fire grew to 5 alarms, requiring assistance from firefighters in Burlington County and throughout Mercer County. Unfortunately, one firefighter was injured and transported to Robert wood Hospital. The fire was finally placed under control around 5:00 PM, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
TRENTON, N.J. (PBN Trenton Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a car traveling down Chambers Street and Morris Ave. A driver stopped to aid the pedestrian that suffered head trauma Trenton emergency medical services transported the male to Capital Health trauma center. It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene at this time.
TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Trenton Police responded to the 500 block of Second Street Sunday night just before 11:00Pm. A male was reported to be stabbed multiple times, Trenton emergency medical services and Capital Health paramedics transported the male while doing CPR to Capital Health Trauma Center.
Update: The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Sunday evening in the city, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri reported. At approximately 10:46 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2023, Trenton police responded to the 500 block of Second Street on a stabbing in progress. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a stab wound to the torso. The victim, identified as Roger Martinez-Rodriguez, 27, of Trenton, was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a few hours later. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Trenton Police are investigating a shooting that left two wounded. Trenton Police reported a Small gathering in the parking lot of Frazier Court Friday just before midnight. The Shooter arrived on foot and fired several shots. One male was shot in the stomach and one juvenile female was grazed in the knee. Both victims are stable at this time. The Shooting response team is investigating.
TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Wednesday after 10 p.m., a car chase involving a carjacking suspect ended with a crash in North Trenton. According to the Trenton Police, they were pursuing a carjacked vehicle when the suspect’s car crashed into two unoccupied parked vehicles. The car continued to move until it finally stopped after hitting a curb and pole at New Trent and Calhoun Street. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the police have arrested two suspects.
TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) Mercer County Prosecutor Onofri announced Thursday that an investigation conducted by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department has resulted in one arrest in connection with the shooting homicide of Daniel Garvin earlier this month. Rasheed Funderburg, 34, of Trenton, is charged with murder and firearms offenses. He was taken into custody on Wednesday morning by the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force. The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain the defendant pending trial.
At approximately 8:21 pm, on April 14, 2023, Trenton Police received a ShotSpotter activation for six rounds in the area of 328 Rutherford Avenue. Trenton Police responded to the area and eventually located a male in an area behind 332 and 330 Rutherford Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was identified as Daniel Garvin, 46 years old, of Trenton. Garvin was transported to the hospital but was later pronounced deceased.
During the investigation, Detectives learned that Funderburg had engaged in a physical altercation with a younger male at the liquor store located at 210 Prospect Street immediately prior to the shooting. The younger male fled around the corner to Rutherford Avenue and several individuals, including Funderburg, followed him. Funderburg was seen retrieving a handgun and approaching an alleyway where the younger male had been seen running. Funderburg then fired several shots down the alleyway from the street. The victim, Daniel Garvin, was struck three times by gunfire as he walked through the alleyway.
