Trenton, NJ – On Monday, June 10, 2024, Trenton Police Department detectives assigned to the Crime Suppression Unit arrested Joseph Moore, 38, on multiple weapons charges in the 100 block of Turpin Street.

Detectives patrolling the area at approximately 5:18 p.m. observed Moore carrying an assault rifle equipped with a high-capacity drum magazine capable of holding approximately 50 rounds of ammunition. Moore was taken into custody without incident. Upon arrest, detectives discovered a live hollow point round in the chamber of the firearm and additional ammunition in the magazine.

As detectives secured the scene, Trenton Communications reported several calls of shots fired in the area. A subsequent search revealed two spent shell casings, though no injuries or property damage were reported.

Joseph Moore has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Assault Firearm)
  • Unlawful Possession of High Capacity Magazine
  • Unlawful Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition
  • Certain Person Not to Have Weapons
  • Discharge of Ammunition Restricted
  • Warrants
