
Two Injured, grandmother, child dead in Hamilton Township House Fire
Hamilton Township, NJ ( Mercer) Hamilton Township firefighters responded to two homes that caught fire early Friday morning just after 3:30 Am. Firefighters battled heavy fire coming from the two homes on the 200 block of Woodlawn Ave. Robert wood Ems, Trenton Ems, Capital Health Paramedics transported two residents to Capital Health Regional Medical Center with serious burns. Firefighters pulled one body from the fire and were pronounced deceased. Fire conditions at one point were so bad that evacuation tones were sounded for firefighters to go to exterior operations. Hamilton Fire chief placed the fire under control just after 5:00 Am. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Update: A nine-month-old baby girl and an adult female in her 40s were found deceased inside the residence. Three additional individuals were transported to the hospital with injuries.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, as are the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The investigation is being conducted by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Unit, the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Hamilton Police Division.
