TRENTON, N.J. (PBN) – The Trenton Fire Department responded Tuesday evening in the 100 block of Oliver Avenue. Firefighters were confronted with a daunting scene as heavy flames tore through the roof of a residential home just before 5:00 PM.

The initial response involved firefighters entering the home to combat the blaze from within. However, as conditions inside worsened, the fire chief made the decision to evacuate all firefighters from the building, prioritizing their safety.

Residents of the home were safely evacuated, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Firefighters continued their battle from outside, successfully bringing the fire under control a little after 6:00 PM.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation as authorities work to determine the events leading up to the intense blaze.
