TRENTON N.J. (PBN) The city of Trenton was rocked by two separate shooting incidents within hours of each other, leaving residents and authorities on high alert.

The first incident, occurred around 4:48 p.m. in the area of Brunswick Ave and Southard, Street Trenton Police Department patrol officers responding to reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman with a gunshot wound to her leg. She was promptly transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. Additionally, a vehicle and two residences were struck during the incident, although no other injuries were reported. The Trenton Police Department Shooting Response Team has taken charge of the investigation into this incident.

Just a few hours later, at approximately 7:46 p.m., ShotSpotter alerted authorities to multiple shots fired in the vicinity of 529 Pennington Ave. Patrol officers responded to the scene, where they found two victims who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force, along with the Trenton Police Department, immediately launched an intensive investigation into this tragic event.

Trenton Police Lieutenant Lisette Rios, serving as the Public Information Officer, confirmed the ongoing investigations and urged anyone with information to come forward and assist law enforcement in their efforts. Casey DeBlasio, the Public Information Officer at the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, provided initial details regarding the second shooting incident.
