TRENTON, N.J. (PBN)  Trenton Police are investigating after multiple people were shot Friday evening including two children. Police responded to Mayor Donnelly Homes on New Willow Street where two people were shot, police had a very large unruly crowd Trenton EMS and Trenton Firefighters reported. Trenton Ems and Police responded shortly after to the 100 block of Frazier Street around 7:54 P.m. where an 11-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were in the backseat of their mother’s car when they were both shot in the leg. Trenton ems transported to the Capital Health Trauma Center for non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the victims were also in the car with their mother, grandmother, and two other siblings when a gunman pulled up in another car and opened fire.

Trenton Police are investigating the first homicide of the year after a male was shot in the head early Saturday on South Clinton Ave and Dayton Street just after 1:00 A.m., Trenton EMS and paramedics pronounced the male dead on arrival Anyone with information are asked to contact MCHTF Detective Karl Johnston at (609) 439-5248 or OIC William Jett at (609) 331-5010. UPDATE: Trenton Police announced On Friday, January 12th, 2024 at 5:29 p.m. patrol units responded to a call for service for a disorderly group of males possibly in possession of a handgun hanging out and gambling inside of the hallway of 802 Southard Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered approximately eight (8) males in the hallway, they approached to further investigate and issue Violation of City ordinance summons for gambling. During the course of the investigation, a male identified as Nasir Reed, of Rossell Avenue Trenton NJ refused all lawful commands, fled from officers initiated a foot pursuit, and resisted arrest. During the struggle, Reed had a handgun that discharged causing a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his left upper thigh. Reed was rendered medical aid, released from the hospital, and charged with resisting arrest and weapons offenses. This is an ongoing Mercer County Shooting Response Team investigation.
